Heidi Love—Emerging from the trauma of childhood rape, attempted murder, and a mother’s madness, I embarked on a lifelong dream: to sail 12,000 miles from Maine to French Polynesia on a small boat. Raging storms and PTSD flashbacks at sea uncovered repressed memories and threatened my life. Courageous female mentors, including a therapist who climbed to 24,000′ on Mt. Everest, and a sailboat captain who completed two world circumnavigations with all-female crew, offered personal insight and inspiration for my journey. I am currently writing a memoir Laughing at the Sky in the hopes of inspiring women on journeys of self-discovery. Please support this journey by visiting often and sharing your thoughts. Thanks so much!
